Marion Jones, the disgraced Olympian who was accused of using performance enhancement drugs was sentenced to 6 months in jail today for lying to investigators in November 2003 regarding her usage, and a check cashing fraud that she was connect to.
Although she had pleaded with the judge for leniency and not to be separated from her sons, the judge handed down his sentence saying that he was giving her the 6 months, the maximum allowed under her plea deal, "because of the need for general deterrence and the need to promote respect for the law."
This is sad, although she deserved to be punished, I don't think the 6 months prison bid was necessary now, gawsh. She did give up a couple medals, has to deal with the humiliation of being a cheater, and involved in some thievery. But if Marsha and Paris had to hit the bricks, then it was a wrap for her black ass from the jump. Lay it down for a bit Marion, I hope those 'roids help you fight off those boxes in the bing. *smh*
